Shanna In a Dress

Shanna in a Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants. She says what everyone has felt but no one else will say and you'll get an uncensored journey of clever humor and heartbreak, extreme candor, and a hefty side of entertainment at her shows. This witty wordsmith is known for taking you on an emotional roller coaster, sometimes within the same song. Think of a female Steve Poltz mixed with Ingrid Michaelson with a twist of Phoebe Buffay from Friends. Her level of authenticity is shocking!

An award-winning songwriter, Shanna has been named the winner of the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Song showcase, Kerrville New Folk song competition, Great River Folk Fest, and a Grassy Hill Emerging Artist at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.

In 2021, she biked across the US as her “Tour de Dress” performing over 60 shows along the way from Seattle to Boston.

Her new record, Sweet Spot, was released in June 2026, and there's another one already on the way... she just needs the music OUT! A true road warrior, Shanna plays over 100 original shows a year all over the US and is a regular at Rocky Mountain Folk Fest, Black Bear Americana Fest, Philly Folk Fest, and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Shanna in a Dress has opened and shared the stage with many folk legends.

She is also a popular songwriting coach at retreats and workshops online and at festivals across the US. She began mentoring creatives to step into their dreams after attending the Institute for Coaching Mastery. Shanna now also works privately with select individuals to help them actualize their creative dreams in her custom Artist Accelerator program, and now as a Lead Co-Instructor for the Herons Haunt 2027 Seabreeze SongLab!
