Original Parts

Bringing Heart, Soul, and Acoustic Harmony to the Front Range of Colorado!

Hailing from Longmont, Original Parts is a dynamic four-piece acoustic rock band delivering a refreshing, feel-good musical experience that breathes new life into familiar favorites and showcases captivating original songwriting. Known for their "easy on the ears" sound, the band blends elements of acoustic rock, folk, pop, and timeless oldies, redefining classic genres with deep musicality and genuine heart.

At the helm is Robby Layton, driving the band’s melodic core on vocals and both rhythm and lead guitar. He is joined by Chris Dropinski, who adds a unique texture to the rhythm section with vocals, ukulele, and light percussion. Dave Compton brings a soulful Americana edge to the mix on vocals, guitar, and harmonica, while John Borthwick holds down the groove with solid, intuitive bass lines.

What sets Original Parts apart is their democratic approach to performance. Instead of a single frontman, the band members share lead vocal duties, weaving their voices together into rich, ear-pleasing harmonies that have become their signature trademark. Their versatile acoustic arrangements allow them to connect deeply with audiences in any setting, moving seamlessly from the quiet intimacy of small listening rooms and local taprooms to the high-energy demands of large community festivals and private events. Whether you are looking to rediscover an old favorite song or fall in love with a new original melody, Original Parts delivers an unforgettable performance filled with warmth, nostalgia, and undeniable soul.
